JOHN PFRIENDER worked for a leading women's magazine for more than thirty years, most of it as VP, Promotion Director, responsible for print, television, direct mail advertising and Trade Relations. As Director of Marketing Services of the New York Times Magazine Group, he was responsible for the promotional launch of US magazine, including a multi-media presentation to VIP's and a campaign of print ads and TV commercials.
Mr. Pfriender's awards include the "Gold Mailbox," the highest award of the Direct Mail Association of America, (DMAA); the "A. Philip Randolph Award" and the U.S. Industrial Film Festival Award for "It's Up to You," a documentary film he produced about A&P's CEP Program of hiring and training disadvantaged people living in Chicago's ghetto. It was presented to a large audience of key Food Industry executives and widely distributed .
He is the author of "The Korean War, (as I experienced it)."
